As a Software Engineering Intern, you will partner with teammates to solve problems and create innovative software solutions. You will apply a customer focused approach to product quality while providing technical input to Technical Program Managers and Product Managers. The role also involves learning and adopting modern technologies, tools, and engineering methods to build reliable solutions.
Interns at Microsoft work on real projects that impact products used globally. You will collaborate with teams across locations, experiment with ideas, and gain hands-on experience building modern software systems.

Responsibilities
- Use sound engineering principles to address complex technical problems with practical solutions.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to understand and define user requirements for features.
- Quickly learn new engineering approaches and integrate them into development processes.
- Seek feedback and apply internal or industry best practices to improve technical implementations.
- Manage time effectively while contributing to software projects within a collaborative team environment.
- Stay aware of new developments and continuously learn to improve product availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance at scale.
Qualifications
Required
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Must have at least one academic term remaining after completing the internship.
- At least one year of programming experience using an object oriented language.
Preferred
- Understanding of computer science fundamentals such as data structures and algorithms.
