Microsoft Security Research Internship (India) | Fresher Eligible

Overview

As a Security Research Intern, you will work under supervision to carry out security research, including malware analysis, threat and vulnerability analysis, adversary tracking, threat intelligence, and the development of detection and remediation methods. You will help build solutions, including first-party mitigations, work closely with customers and partners, and support operational security, security incidents, security reviews and reporting.

You will join the group responsible for advanced threat detection. The team uses machine learning and behavioral profiling to spot emerging threats and advanced attacks, and builds hyper-scale services to protect millions of hosts in a cloud solution that gives customers visibility and control.

Responsibilities

• Analyze threat trends and anomalies to understand operational impact, identify attack vectors and potential mitigations, and learn how to address systemic security issues.
• Process threat reports from internal and external sources and provide threat data based on intelligence requirements or customer requests.
• Identify security defects, vulnerabilities and gaps in security guidance.
• Contribute code for the implementation and automation of solutions addressing issues such as signature detection, malware, threat analysis or reverse engineering, and use research results to inform architecture or product direction.
• Coordinate dependencies and overlap with other teams, give constructive input, and communicate deliverable status to stay on schedule.
• Protect tools, techniques, information and results, respond to incidents as needed, and use penetration testing results to improve products and services.
