Join Microsoft as an Applied Science Intern and work alongside university interns from around the world. This internship provides an opportunity to explore your interests, contribute to impactful projects, and gain hands-on experience with advanced technologies.
As part of the Applied Sciences team, you will help bring research into Microsoft products and services. The role involves applying advanced concepts to practical business needs, using modern tools and technologies to improve product quality and innovation through data analysis, modeling, and machine learning.
Interns at Microsoft work on real-world projects with global teams while building technical and collaborative experience. You will have the opportunity to contribute ideas and solutions while working with cutting-edge technologies.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and enhance the performance of advanced algorithms using large-scale datasets and machine learning applications.
- Understand product scenarios and goals, identify technical challenges, and map them into machine learning tasks for experimentation and optimization.
- Develop prototypes for scalable AI-based systems.
- Build knowledge of research techniques, industry trends, and relevant technologies while sharing learnings with team members.
- Prepare and review datasets for analysis by evaluating quality standards and technical limitations.
- Support the creation of usable datasets for modeling and assist with feature ideation and data preparation activities.
- Help adapt cleaned datasets for machine learning workflows under the guidance of senior team members.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Must have at least one additional academic quarter or semester remaining after completion of the internship.
