Position Summary
As a Software Engineering Sophomore Intern, you will work with a collaborative team that develops scalable software solutions with AI and ML integrations. The internship offers hands-on exposure to real-world engineering projects while learning from experienced developers within Walmart’s technology ecosystem.

About the Team
US Omni Tech focuses on understanding customer needs and applying technical expertise to create a strategic product roadmap. The team builds solutions that support Walmart’s Everyday Low Prices philosophy by improving operational efficiency and delivering reliable technology platforms.
What You Will Do
You will collaborate with a team of developers to write code and contribute to building large-scale systems. These may include platforms such as the largest private customer database, master data systems for items and supply chain supporting online and offline channels, and mobile applications that improve associate experiences.
Work may also involve complex security frameworks, cryptography systems, integration layers for supplier and B2B partner connections, large-scale distributed systems, service-oriented architecture, high performance scalable platforms, and massive in-memory databases.
What You Will Bring
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering with expected graduation in 2028.
- Minimum combined aggregate score of 7 or above across all semesters.
- Strong fundamentals in computer science including data structures, algorithms, object oriented programming, and system design basics.
- Working knowledge of at least one programming language such as C, C++, or Java.
- Ability to analyze data, identify issues, and support solutions in a fast-paced engineering environment.
