
As a Software Engineering Intern, you will work within a collaborative team that builds scalable software solutions with AI and ML integrations. The internship provides exposure to real-world engineering challenges within Walmart’s technology ecosystem.
You will contribute to active projects, learn from experienced engineers, and gain insight into large scale systems used across Walmart’s global platforms. Interns are expected to demonstrate curiosity, ownership, and a strong learning mindset while aligning with Walmart’s culture and values.
At Walmart Global Tech India, you will be part of a team of more than 15,000 engineers, data scientists, and technology professionals. The group develops scalable software solutions with AI and ML integrations that support Walmart’s global operations and improve experiences for customers and associates.
The technology organization supports large scale digital transformation initiatives across Walmart’s stores and digital channels. With more than 260 million customers served weekly, over 11,300 stores across 19 countries, and multiple e‑commerce platforms, the systems built here operate at significant global scale.

Teams work on complex engineering problems where data and analytics help strengthen the digital relationship with customers across physical stores, mobile platforms, social channels, and online services.
The team collaborates closely with Walmart International, which operates more than 5,900 retail units outside the United States across 26 countries. These operations run under 55 different banners in regions including Africa, Argentina, Canada, Central America, Chile, China, India, Japan, and Mexico.
You will work with a team of developers to build and maintain large scale technology systems. Projects may include platforms such as large private customer databases, master data systems for item and supply chain management, and mobile applications designed to improve the associate experience.
Work may also involve complex security frameworks and cryptography systems, integration layers connecting suppliers and B2B partners, and services running on one of the world’s largest private cloud environments. Engineers contribute to distributed systems, service oriented architectures, high performance platforms, and large in‑memory databases that support both online and offline channels.
