As a Software Engineering Intern, you will work within a collaborative team building scalable software systems that include AI and machine learning integrations. The role provides hands-on exposure to real engineering projects and Walmart's technology ecosystem. About the Team
The Marketplace Engineering team builds the platforms and services that enable Walmart to offer a broad product selection at competitive prices. The team supports third-party sellers by allowing them to list, manage, and sell products on Walmart.com.
Responsibilities include managing the seller lifecycle, monitoring customer experience, and providing insights that help sellers manage assortment, pricing, and inventory. The team collaborates with multiple partner platforms to ensure a reliable and seamless experience for sellers and customers.
What You Will Do
You will work as part of a developer team writing code and contributing to systems such as large-scale customer databases, item master data platforms, and supply chain applications supporting both online and offline channels.
- Build and contribute to large-scale distributed systems and service-oriented architectures.
- Work on mobile applications that enhance the experience for Walmart associates.
- Support integration layers that connect suppliers and B2B partners.
- Develop secure frameworks, cryptology systems, and scalable cloud-based platforms.
- Help build high performance, reliable systems including large in-memory databases.
What You Will Bring
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering with an expected graduation year of 2027.
- Minimum combined aggregate score of 7 or above across all semesters.
- Strong foundation in core computer science concepts such as data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C, C++, or Java.
- Ability to analyze data, diagnose issues, and develop effective solutions while working in a fast-paced environment.
