About the Team

The Marketplace Data Science team develops AI driven solutions to improve revenue while reducing operational costs. Several AI systems already operate across different marketplace personas.

During the internship, you will research and experiment with AI based approaches for marketplace problems. The work may enhance existing solutions or explore new methods that have not been previously implemented. Outcomes from this research may be integrated into current Marketplace DS solutions.

What You'll Do

• Work with a team of developers to design and build components of large scale systems.
• Contribute to platforms such as the world's largest private customer database and master data systems for items and supply chains.
• Support systems powering online and offline retail channels.
• Participate in mobile development efforts that improve experiences for Walmart associates.
• Help develop complex security frameworks, cryptology systems, and supplier integration layers.
• Work with distributed systems, service oriented architectures, high performance applications, and large in-memory databases within Walmart's private cloud infrastructure.

What You'll Bring

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering and expected to graduate in 2027.
• Minimum aggregate score of 7 or above across all semesters.
• Strong fundamentals in computer science including data structures, algorithms, object oriented programming, and software design.
• Knowledge of at least one programming language such as C, C++, or Java.
• Ability to analyze problems, interpret data trends, and build effective solutions in a fast paced environment.
