As a Software Engineering Intern, you will work with a collaborative team building scalable software solutions with AI and ML integrations. About the Team
The Marketplace Engineering team builds core platforms and services that help Walmart offer a broad product selection at competitive prices. These systems enable third-party sellers to list, sell, and manage their products on walmart.com while maintaining a strong post-order customer experience.
The team manages the entire seller lifecycle, monitors customer experience, and provides insights that help sellers plan assortment, pricing, and inventory. Collaboration with other platform teams ensures a seamless experience for both sellers and customers.
What You Will Do
You will work with a team of developers to build and enhance large scale technology platforms. Projects may involve systems such as large private customer databases, master data platforms for items, and supply chain systems that support online and offline channels.
The work may also include mobile development for internal tools, complex security frameworks, cryptology systems, integration layers for suppliers and B2B partners, and large scale distributed platforms. These systems support service oriented architectures, high performance applications, scalable and reliable platforms, and massive in-memory databases.
What You Will Bring
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a related field and expected to graduate in 2027.
- Minimum aggregate score of 7 or above across all semesters.
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, object oriented programming, and system design basics.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C, C++, or Java.
- Ability to analyze problems, interpret data trends, and design effective solutions in a fast paced environment.
