About the Role

As an Intern, you will be involved in assisting with programming tasks, validating tool functionality, preparing documentation, and collaborating with the engineering team on various development activities. Strong programming skills in MATLAB, Python, and LaTeX are required. Foundational knowledge of GIT, CI/CD, and Artifactory, along with good analytical and communication skills, will be essential for success in this role.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Assist in designing and programming functions in MATLAB and Python for automated reporting and controller validation workflows.
  • Support the testing and validation of new and existing software tools to ensure functionality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with engineers to debug and enhance tool performance based on user feedback and project requirements.
  • Implement and improve automated build, test, and CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) procedures to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of technical documentation for developed tools, including user guides and development notes.
  • Support the creation of data analysis reports and technical presentations for engineering reviews.
  • Prepare controller certification documents.

What You Bring

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's (B.Tech, 3rd/4th year) or Master's (M.Tech, 1st year) degree in Control & Automation, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline.
  • No prior professional experience required; academic or personal project experience in relevant programming languages is highly valued.
  • Good proficiency in Python, MATLAB, and LaTeX.
  • Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
  • Understanding of Software Testing.
  • Familiarity with Version Control Systems (e.g., Git).
  • Hands-on experience with distributed version control systems (e.g., Mercurial, Git) and agile development tools (e.g., Jira).
  • Experience working with continuous integration pipelines (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins, Artifactory).
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Collaboration and communication skills (written and spoken).
  • Proactive learning mindset.

About the Team

This role is part of the Loads and Controls Engineering Department within Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy Technology organization. The team works on cutting-edge control technologies and advanced engineering solutions for next-generation wind turbines in a highly international environment.
