About the Team and Role

The Application Security team ensures that Rubrik’s products and applications are designed, developed, and maintained with strong security practices. The team builds and manages Rubrik’s Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC) framework and collaborates with teams across the company to achieve secure outcomes for products and services.

As an intern on the Application Security Engineering team, you will work closely with experienced engineers and report to the Senior Manager for Application Security. The role offers the chance to contribute to projects that support the security of Rubrik’s applications while learning from the wider Information Security organization.

Rubrik’s internship program provides hands-on experience from the beginning. Interns contribute to real projects that support the company’s products while gaining visibility into how teams collaborate across the organization. Participants also connect with experienced professionals who provide guidance and mentorship throughout the program.

During the 12-week internship you will have access to:

Key Responsibilities

• Assist engineering teams in reproducing, triaging, tracking, and addressing application security vulnerabilities
• Build technical solutions that help enhance and optimize Rubrik’s Secure SDLC processes
• Develop tooling to automate repetitive tasks and improve the efficiency of the Application Security team
• Collaborate with Application Security engineers to establish and document security best practices
• Support the creation and maintenance of dashboards for application security metrics and reporting
• Work with teams and partners located across multiple time zones

Preferred Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related discipline
• Expected graduation year: 2027
• Availability to work full-time during the 12-week internship program
• Prior software engineering exposure through internships, projects, coding competitions, or publications
• Programming experience in languages such as Python, Go, Scala, C/C++, or JavaScript/TypeScript
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, containerization technologies like Kubernetes or Docker, and microservices architectures
