Job Description:
Swiss Re is seeking motivated individuals for the Apprentice role to support our Actuarial Valuation Reporting and Analysis team. This is an opportunity to work with a global leader in reinsurance, supporting Life & Health (L&H) business across various geographies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in quarterly valuation and reserving activities
  • Prepare data for valuation models and maintain models
  • Execute defined modeling processes, implement assumptions, perform runs, debug issues, and validate results
  • Maintain audit trails and documentation of validations and checks
  • Meet deliverables as per approved timelines
  • Conduct user acceptance testing for system and model changes
  • Drive improvements in existing model building and validation tools
  • Investigate data/modeling issues, reconcile reports, and develop solutions
  • Assist in special projects as required

Education Requirement: Bachelors in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Commerce, Engineering, or related disciplines; postgraduate candidates not eligible

Technical Skills Required: Actuarial concepts, MS Excel, VB Macros, SQL, data handling, debugging, validation, analytical tools

Key Qualifications:

  • Graduate in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Commerce, Engineering, or related disciplines
  • Enrolled as a student member of an actuarial professional institute (India/UK/US preferred)
  • Strong grasp of fundamental actuarial concepts
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly MS Excel; knowledge of VB Macros and SQL is an advantage
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, accurately, and meet deadlines
  • Collaborative mindset to build positive relationships within teams and with stakeholders
