Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a motivated and analytical Finance Analytics & Automation Trainee to assist with finance transformation initiatives within GTC. The role focuses on data analytics, reporting automation, and the use of AI and ML concepts within finance and business processes.

This opportunity suits a recent graduate interested in combining finance knowledge with data analytics, automation tools, and AI technologies.

Your Role

• Create and maintain Power BI dashboards for finance reporting, productivity analysis, accounts receivable, and management insights.
• Assist with process automation using Power Automate, including data refresh, approval flows, and reporting workflows.
• Conduct data analysis and scripting using Python for finance datasets.
• Support the application of basic Machine Learning and AI techniques such as forecasting, classification, and anomaly detection for business scenarios.
• Collaborate with finance teams on datasets related to cost, revenue, margins, productivity, and operational performance.
• Verify data accuracy and reconciliation while ensuring alignment with accounting principles.
• Document dashboards, automation logic, and solutions to enable smooth handover and scalability.

Technical Skills

• Working knowledge of Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, and visualization.
• Exposure to Power Automate with understanding of flows, triggers, and connectors.
• Basic to intermediate proficiency in Python, including libraries such as Pandas and NumPy, along with simple data visualization.
• Awareness of Machine Learning and Generative AI concepts, including models, typical use cases, and limitations.

Finance and Business Knowledge

• Commerce background.
• Basic understanding of accounting concepts including P&L, cost structures, revenue, and margins.
• Ability to interpret finance terminology and business context.
