Job Description

Purpose of the role

Monitor customer accounts to detect suspicious or fraudulent activity and take appropriate action when required.

Accountabilities

  • Handle customer queries related to suspected fraud, including credit card inquiries, account management, and case resolution.
  • Work with internal teams and law enforcement agencies on investigations involving potential fraudulent activity.
  • Assist in developing and implementing fraud prevention strategies, processes, and the use of fraud detection tools and technologies.
  • Support business operations teams such as risk management, compliance, and customer care when required.
  • Track trends and regulatory updates related to fraud prevention and ensure alignment with internal policies.
  • Manage and improve KPIs used to evaluate the effectiveness of fraud prevention operations, using data and technology to identify improvement areas.
  • Monitor financial transactions to identify suspicious behavior, investigate potential fraud cases, and report incidents.

Analyst Expectations

  • Deliver operational excellence and customer service to meet stakeholder and customer needs.
  • Complete assigned activities on time and maintain high quality standards.
  • This grade does not include people management responsibilities.
  • Execute tasks defined by established procedures and collaborate with team members when required.
  • Identify and escalate policy breaches where necessary.
  • Take responsibility for customer service and operational delivery tasks.
  • Manage risk and strengthen controls related to assigned responsibilities while following relevant regulations and codes of conduct.
  • Develop an understanding of the team’s objectives and how the role contributes to wider functional goals.
  • Work within defined processes that may involve multiple operational routines.
  • Apply procedural knowledge and choose suitable actions from available options.
  • Use factual information to make sound judgments during investigations.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders and customers to support smooth processes and address sensitive issues when needed.
