Job Description

Purpose of the Role

The role supports Private Bank and Wealth Management (PBWM) operations by handling daily processing activities, reviewing transactions, preparing reports, and resolving operational issues.

Accountabilities

  • Assist with daily PBWM operations including processing, reviewing, reporting, and issue resolution related to accounts, products, and services.
  • Support management of client relationships by identifying needs and helping deliver services that meet expectations.
  • Collaborate with teams across the bank to align and integrate Private Bank and Wealth Management processes.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and recommend changes to PBWM processes.
  • Help develop and implement procedures and controls that reduce risk and improve operational efficiency.
  • Create reports and presentations related to PBWM performance and share insights with internal stakeholders.
  • Track industry trends and developments to support best practices within Private Bank and Wealth Management services.
  • Contribute to projects and initiatives that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of PBWM operations.

  • Build knowledge of the organization’s products, services, and processes and understand how the sub-function integrates with the broader function.
  • Analyse factual data to make informed operational decisions while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Resolve issues by identifying solutions based on established practices and technical experience.
  • Communicate complex or sensitive information to team members and stakeholders when required.
  • Act as a point of contact for stakeholders outside the immediate team and build professional networks internally and externally.

In this role, you will manage operational processes within a business function while supporting risk management initiatives and ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory standards. The position involves taking ownership of assigned tasks and delivering work aligned with internal rules and codes of conduct.

The role also focuses on reconciliation support, break investigation, and payment operations to maintain accuracy across financial systems. Responsibilities include analysing transaction data, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring timely resolution while maintaining strong operational controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and monitor SWIFT cross border payments including MT and ISO 20022 message formats.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies such as missing entries, duplicate transactions, or incorrect postings.
  • Interpret bank statements and transaction records to perform accurate reconciliations.
  • Monitor cash movements and settlements while ensuring adherence to value dates, cut off timings, and applicable charges.

Desirable Knowledge

  • Understanding of SWIFT messaging standards including MT103, MT202 and MT202 COV.
  • Knowledge of ISO 20022 payment message formats.
  • Familiarity with accounting principles including debits, credits, journals, general ledger and sub ledgers.
  • Experience with reconciliation platforms and case management workflows.
  • Understanding of payments processing and settlement lifecycle in banking operations.
