As a Software Engineering Intern, you will join a collaborative engineering team that builds scalable software platforms with AI and ML integrations. About the Team
US Omni Tech focuses on understanding customer needs and using technology to design product roadmaps that improve customer satisfaction. The team applies strategic thinking and engineering expertise to create scalable systems while maintaining operational efficiency and cost effectiveness, supporting Walmart’s Everyday Low Prices philosophy.
What You Will Do
You will work with a team of developers building large-scale systems that power Walmart’s digital and retail ecosystem. Projects may involve building or supporting platforms such as:
- Large private customer databases and item master data systems
- Supply chain systems supporting online and offline channels
- Mobile applications that improve the experience for store associates
- Security frameworks and cryptology solutions
- Integration layers connecting suppliers and B2B partners
- Large-scale distributed systems and service oriented architecture
- High performance and highly reliable platforms
- Massive in-memory databases and private cloud infrastructure
What You Will Bring
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, expected to graduate in 2027
- Combined aggregate score of 7 or above across all semesters
- Strong understanding of core computer science fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms, object oriented programming, and system design concepts
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C, C++, or Java
- Ability to interpret data, identify issues, and develop effective solutions while working in a fast-paced engineering environment
