Position Summary
As a Software Engineering Intern, you will work with a collaborative team developing scalable software solutions that include AI and ML integrations. The internship provides exposure to real production systems while contributing to real projects within Walmart’s technology ecosystem. Interns are expected to demonstrate curiosity, ownership, and a strong learning mindset while aligning with Walmart’s culture and values.

About the Team
Sam’s Club is Walmart’s membership warehouse club offering high quality products at competitive prices. The platform supports services such as Scan and Go, Club Pickup, and home delivery in select markets. The business also includes offerings like travel, auto purchasing, pharmacy services, optical centers, hearing aid centers, tire and battery centers, along with several operational support services.
What You’ll Do
You will work with a team of developers writing code and building systems such as large scale customer databases, master data platforms for items and supply chain operations, and mobile applications that enhance associate experiences.
The role may involve development in areas including complex security frameworks and cryptology suites, integration layers connecting suppliers and B2B partners, large scale distributed systems, service oriented architecture, high performance and reliable systems, massive in memory databases, and one of the world’s largest private cloud environments.
What You’ll Bring
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a related field with graduation expected in 2027.
- Minimum combined aggregate score of 7 or above across all semesters.
- Strong fundamentals in computer science topics including data structures, algorithms, and object oriented programming and design.
- Working knowledge of at least one programming language such as C, C++, or Java.
- Ability to analyze data and trends, diagnose problems, and develop effective solutions in a fast paced environment.
