Position Summary
As a Software Engineering Intern, you will work with a collaborative engineering team building scalable software solutions that incorporate AI and machine learning technologies. The internship offers hands-on experience with real production systems and the chance to learn from experienced engineers within Walmart’s technology ecosystem.
Interns are expected to contribute to real projects, show curiosity, take ownership of tasks, and demonstrate a strong learning mindset while aligning with Walmart’s culture and values.

About the Team
The Corporate Tech and Services team focuses on delivering and supporting people technology across the enterprise. Their work enables managers and associates globally to use improved digital tools and services.
As part of Walmart Global Tech’s Enterprise Business Services, the People Technology organization develops and operates solutions for finance systems, people systems, and the associate digital experience.
What You'll Do
- Work within a development team writing code and contributing to large-scale systems.
- Help build and support platforms such as large private customer databases and master data systems for items and supply chain.
- Contribute to systems that power both online and offline commerce channels.
- Participate in mobile development efforts to improve associate user experiences.
- Support the development of security frameworks, cryptology solutions, and integrations with suppliers and B2B partners.
- Work with large distributed systems, service oriented architectures, private cloud platforms, and high performance scalable applications.
- Engage with technologies that power massive in-memory databases and enterprise scale infrastructure.
What You'll Bring
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree, or an equivalent engineering program, with graduation expected in 2027.
- A cumulative academic score of 7 or above across all semesters.
- Strong understanding of core computer science concepts including data structures, algorithms, and object oriented programming.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C, C++, or Java.
- Ability to analyze problems, interpret data, and develop effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.
