Position Summary
As a Software Engineering Intern, you will work with a collaborative team building scalable software systems that include AI and ML integrations. The internship provides exposure to real world engineering projects and Walmart's large technology ecosystem. About the Team
The Marketplace Engineering team builds core platforms and services that allow Walmart to provide a broad product selection at competitive prices with a strong post order experience. The platform enables third party sellers to list, sell, and manage products on walmart.com while supporting the full seller lifecycle.
The team focuses on monitoring customer experience and delivering insights that help sellers manage assortment, pricing, and inventory. Engineers collaborate with multiple platform teams to continuously improve the marketplace experience for both sellers and customers.
What You'll Do
You will work with a team of developers writing code and contributing to large scale technology platforms. Projects may involve systems such as large customer data platforms, item master data systems, and supply chain solutions that support both online and offline channels.
Work may also include mobile development to improve associate experiences, security frameworks and cryptology systems, integration layers for suppliers and B2B partners, and large scale distributed systems. The environment includes service oriented architectures, highly scalable and reliable systems, massive in memory databases, and one of the world's largest private cloud infrastructures.
What You'll Bring
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering with an expected graduation year of 2027.
- A cumulative academic score of 7 or above across semesters.
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, object oriented programming, and design.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C, C++, or Java.
- Ability to analyze problems, interpret data trends, and develop effective solutions while working in a fast paced environment.
