Position Summary
As a Software Engineering Intern, you will work within a collaborative team that builds scalable software solutions with AI and machine learning integrations. The internship offers exposure to real world engineering projects within Walmart’s technology ecosystem.
You will collaborate with experienced engineers, contribute to active development initiatives, and gain insight into large scale systems used across Walmart’s global operations. Interns are expected to show curiosity, ownership, and a strong learning mindset while reflecting Walmart’s culture and values.

About the Team
US Omni Tech focuses on understanding customer needs and translating them into technology driven products. The team builds product roadmaps and applies advanced engineering practices to improve the overall Walmart experience.
Delivering Walmart’s Everyday Low Prices strategy requires efficient, scalable, and cost effective systems. The engineering teams play a key role in optimizing processes across different technology platforms.
What You Will Do
You will work with a team of developers to write and maintain code that supports large scale systems across Walmart’s technology landscape. Projects may include:
- Large private customer data platforms
- Master data systems for items and supply chain supporting online and offline channels
- Mobile applications designed to improve associate productivity
- Complex security frameworks and cryptography suites
- Integration platforms connecting suppliers and B2B partners
- Large scale distributed systems and service oriented architectures
- High performance and reliable systems supporting massive in memory databases
- Infrastructure supporting one of the world’s largest private clouds
What You Will Bring
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field with graduation expected in 2027
- Minimum combined aggregate score of 7 or above across all semesters
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and object oriented programming concepts
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C, C++, or Java
- Ability to interpret data, identify issues, and contribute to technical solutions within a fast paced engineering environment
