As a Software Engineering Intern, you will work within a collaborative team developing scalable software solutions that incorporate AI and machine learning capabilities. The role provides exposure to real production systems while contributing to real projects. About the Team
US Omni Tech focuses on understanding customer needs and applying technology and strategic thinking to shape product roadmaps. The team works to deliver solutions that support Walmart’s philosophy of Everyday Low Prices by optimizing processes and building reliable, cost effective systems.
What You'll Do
You will collaborate with a team of developers and contribute code to systems that support Walmart’s global technology ecosystem. Projects may involve building and improving platforms such as large scale customer databases, item master data platforms, and supply chain systems that support both online and offline operations.
- Develop software for large scale distributed systems
- Contribute to mobile development that enhances the experience for store associates
- Work with integration layers that connect suppliers and B2B partners
- Support high performance and highly scalable service oriented architectures
- Assist in building secure systems including cryptology and security frameworks
- Work with large in memory databases and cloud scale infrastructure
What You'll Bring
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering and expected to graduate in 2027
- Minimum aggregate score of 7 or above across all semesters
- Strong understanding of core computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and object oriented programming
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C, C++, or Java
- Ability to interpret data trends, diagnose issues, and propose effective solutions in a fast paced environment
