Program Overview
Volvo Group invites fresh engineering graduates to participate in the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS). The program offers practical industry exposure and the chance to work with experienced engineers on real-world engineering projects.
Roles and Responsibilities
Concept Creation Based on QDCF Prerequisites
- Develop conceptual design solutions.
- Work with multi-material assemblies.
- Consider stakeholder requirements during concept development.
Manufacturing Knowledge
- Understanding of plastic and sheet metal manufacturing processes.
- Exposure to tooling methods such as injection molding, blow molding, and vacuum forming.
- Knowledge of press tools, blanking, and forming operations.
- Considerations for plastic and sheet metal component design.
- Awareness of secondary operations and prototype manufacturing techniques.
CAD Tools (Optional)
- Experience with CATIA V5 or Creo for part modeling, surfacing, assemblies, and drawing preparation.
- Understanding of geometry checks such as draft analysis, plastic part tolerancing, and GD&T application.
Technical Competency
- Foundation in mechanical or automotive engineering concepts.
- Familiarity with CAD tools.
- Working knowledge of MS Office tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
Program Duration
The duration of the apprenticeship follows the guidelines defined under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS).
