About the Role
This position supports the data team through data collection, analysis, and dataset maintenance activities. The role contributes to improving the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of datasets while supporting operational excellence and informed decision-making.
You will work with team members on data quality initiatives and ad-hoc projects focused on improving data offerings and workflow efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Delivery
- Collect and verify market participant data using public sources such as websites, news articles, registries, and filings.
- Perform data cleansing activities to maintain consistency and accuracy across datasets.
- Generate routine reports and basic trend analysis for actionable insights.
- Automate data collection and reporting tasks using SQL and Lean methodologies.
- Use GenAI tools for exploratory data analysis and deeper insight generation.
- Maintain clear documentation of data collection processes and compliance procedures.
- Achieve assigned quality and productivity targets.
- Support improvements in data collection methods and product enhancements.
- Troubleshoot data-related issues and assist team members in resolving discrepancies.
- Participate in workflow and process improvement initiatives.
Process Excellence
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and follow established controls and handover protocols.
- Adhere to governance standards and documentation requirements.
- Apply quality feedback to minimize repeat errors.
- Recommend incremental process improvements for senior review.
- Participate in automation and AI-assisted workflows using approved tools.
Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with team members to clarify requirements and resolve data issues.
- Provide timely updates regarding production volumes, delays, and issues.
- Participate in team meetings, stand-ups, and calibration sessions.
Success Metrics
- Completion of tasks within defined SLAs.
- High data quality standards with reduced repeat errors.
- Compliance with SOPs and documentation standards.
- Responsiveness to feedback and effective queue management.
- Complete handover documentation for assigned tasks.
Skills and Competencies
Technical Skills
- Analytical and quantitative skills with strong attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and Excel, with familiarity in BI tools considered beneficial.
- Understanding of compliance in data collection and reporting.
- Exposure to Lean principles or automation tools is preferred.
- Interest in learning modern technologies, including GenAI tools.
Functional Skills
- Understanding of financial or market data concepts relevant to assigned datasets.
- Ability to perform accurate data entry, tagging, and enrichment.
- Capability to interpret filings, vendor feeds, and news sources.
- Experience with enterprise workflow systems and ticketing platforms.
- Knowledge of MS Office tools including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong online and secondary research abilities.
Preferred Education and Experience
- 0 to 2 years of relevant experience in data operations, research, or related functions, including internships.
