Join NatWest Group as a Risk & Controls Associate, where you will help strengthen risk and control assurance and support the delivery of robust governance and control frameworks. The role offers the opportunity to provide independent insights on risk and governance topics while applying best practices that promote consistent and effective risk management.
You will also deepen your industry knowledge and work with a wide network of stakeholders across the bank while gaining exposure to multiple teams and functions. This position is offered at the associate level.
In this role, you will work closely with business teams to monitor, assess and improve the control environment, helping ensure effective risk management within the first line of defence. The position involves analysing controls, identifying trends or emerging risk issues, and supporting governance processes that enable informed decision making.
You will collaborate with front office and technology teams to support cross functional processes and deliver timely reporting and insights. Acting as a key link between the business, regional operations controls teams, and the second line of defence, you will help maintain a well governed control framework and ensure issues are identified, escalated and resolved effectively.
You should be educated to degree level or hold an MBA or CA qualification, with exposure to risk and control environments. A strong understanding of trade lifecycle processes such as order initiation, execution, booking, confirmation and reconciliation is expected. Knowledge of products across fixed income, derivatives and FX markets will also be valuable.
The role requires the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at different levels and adapt communication styles accordingly.
