Role Overview

Morgan Stanley is looking for an Operations Associate to join the ISG Operations team. This role provides front-line operational support to the Stock Loan Business Unit, focusing on trade lifecycle processing, exception handling, and risk management. The position works closely with internal stakeholders across the North America region and requires flexibility to operate during US business hours.

This is an Associate-level role within Product Support & Services ISG. The team supports transaction processing and manages post-execution activities across relevant markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary operational support for the Stock Loan Business Unit.
  • Process trade bookings, amendments, and manage exceptions for NY-based Stock Loan trades.
  • Work with internal teams throughout the trade lifecycle to ensure accurate processing and appropriate risk awareness.
  • Reconcile positions and carry out trade lifecycle adjustments to reduce operational risk.
  • Maintain strong control frameworks and follow defined escalation procedures.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure risk is effectively managed across key coverage markets.
  • Execute operational processes and contribute to process management or project initiatives using knowledge of systems, markets, and financial instruments.
  • Identify risks in day-to-day processes and highlight key issues while supporting improvements.
  • Develop working relationships with internal teams and share knowledge to enhance team performance.
  • Participate in projects and initiatives, helping develop solutions with a focus on timely execution.

Preferred Skills and Background

  • Ability to set clear priorities and address non-standard issues with limited supervision.
  • Understanding of the supported business area and client requirements while maintaining strong operational controls.
  • Prior exposure to Equities or Stock Loan Middle Office or Operations functions is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and effective organizational abilities.
  • Capability to handle high transaction volumes and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Flexibility to work in US shift timings.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to adapt to operational changes.
  • Understanding of escalation procedures and operational risk management.
  • Willingness to challenge existing processes and contribute to continuous improvements.
