Job Description

Within HPE, the Operations, Legal and Admin teams support the business by providing accountability, insights, and operational support. These teams collaborate across functions to help drive transformation toward becoming the world's edge‑to‑cloud company.

Job Family Definition

The role manages elements of the contracting process for sales transactions. It involves working with customers to draft and negotiate contract language that aligns with company policies and business interests for non‑standard RFPs and contractual requests.

The position interacts with customers and internal stakeholders including Legal, finance, sales teams, business units, and other support functions to move deals toward closure. It includes evaluating business, financial, and legal risks while proposing solutions and mitigation strategies for key negotiation points.

The role also participates in approval processes to support business owners in making informed decisions and ensures compliance with audit, financial regulations such as Sarbanes‑Oxley, and system requirements. It may also assist with resolving post‑execution contract modifications and disputes.

Management Level Definition

Applies foundational knowledge of functional principles and concepts to assignments of limited scope. Uses theoretical knowledge gained through education or early professional experience and develops practical expertise in business applications. Works as a team member by providing information, analysis, and recommendations while exercising judgment within defined parameters.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with routine contract requests using standard company templates and approved clause alternatives under supervision of senior team members or managers.
  • Follow basic planning processes to prioritize routine deal support while working with sales and business leaders.
  • Align activities with the priorities and policies of the company’s legal function.
  • Build working relationships with legal colleagues, business owners, sales personnel, support teams, and customers to support escalations and efficient deal closures.

Education and Experience

  • First level university degree is required.
  • Typically 0 to 2 years of experience in customer‑facing contracts, negotiation, or a related area.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Basic knowledge of laws, policies, and processes relevant to closing non‑standard contracts.
  • Understanding of technology products, services, and related capabilities.
  • Awareness of key business and contractual risks.
  • Basic negotiation and issue escalation skills.

Impact and Scope

  • Leads standard, low‑risk customer contract discussions for one or more sales or business groups within a country.
  • Supports internal and external clients operating within the country.
