The John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru, established in 2000, is GE’s multidisciplinary research and engineering hub. Engineers and scientists at this center have contributed to numerous aviation patents and breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing.
As a Research Intern, you will collaborate with scientists at GE Aerospace Research to design and develop search and recommendation systems aimed at improving engineering team productivity. The role includes creating and implementing algorithms to process aerospace domain data and support recommendation systems.
You will design experiments, conduct detailed evaluations, and document outcomes through technical reports, publications, or invention disclosures. Interns are also expected to communicate findings clearly to relevant stakeholders.
The position involves addressing challenges associated with aerospace data, including domain specific terminology, data quality issues, and integrating NLP or LLM based approaches into safety critical and regulated workflows.
Experience with data analytics, optimization methods, estimation techniques, or detection algorithms is beneficial.
