Job Title: TDI Divisional Control Office (DCO) – Divisional Control Junior Analyst – Controls Testing
Corporate Title: NCT
The Divisional Control Office (DCO), part of the Technology, Data & Innovation (TDI) Chief Operating Office, supports multiple functions across the organization to deliver Deutsche Bank’s risk and control agenda. The team focuses on managing and proactively mitigating risk across the Technology, Data & Innovation division while ensuring consistent standards and policies for non‑financial risk management.
Within the TDI Risk & Controls Strategy, the Controls Testing team identifies, tracks, and reports testing activities. The team performs independent control testing to assess both design and operating effectiveness across various risk areas including Information Technology, Information Security, and Data & Records Management, aligned with established control testing standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out control testing according to the defined methodology and minimum testing standards.
- Conduct Design Effectiveness (DE) and Operating Effectiveness (OE) assessments for assigned controls.
- Support assurance activities including MIS preparation, progress updates, and time tracking for testing tasks.
- Prepare detailed control testing workpapers documenting testing procedures and outcomes.
- Identify control deficiencies and related risks, collaborate with stakeholders to review findings, and escalate significant issues or exceptions when required.
- Maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across the DCO, TDI, other testing teams, divisions, second line of defence, and Group Audit.
- Contribute to team initiatives, process improvements, and potential automation opportunities.
Skills and Experience
- University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent qualification in information security.
- Understanding of IT control auditing through IT audits, IT risk management, or information security risk practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, especially for organizing and presenting data.
- Awareness of the relationship between IT risk and underlying business process risk is beneficial.
- Ability to analyze control weaknesses and clearly document related risks and findings.
- This is an individual contributor role.
