Job Description
The Application Owner (AO) is responsible for the management of a single application or a portfolio of applications. The role ensures applications are maintained and improved in alignment with the bank’s IT security, risk, and compliance requirements while meeting service levels for stakeholders and clients. The AO identifies risks or issues related to the application and escalates them appropriately when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the overall management of assigned applications and maintain required administrative documentation for policy and standards compliance.
- Support disaster recovery readiness by reviewing DR plans and coordinating execution of recovery exercises.
- Handle internal and external application audits and track remediation of identified issues.
- Address gaps in application lifecycle management activities such as account recertification and configuration reviews.
- Manage risk and compliance evaluation activities related to applications and resolve identified gaps.
- Respond to and manage IT security incidents related to applications.
- Plan and monitor application events and database events using bank-wide monitoring tools.
- Track and forecast application capacity requirements.
- Coordinate user access management for applications.
- Support infrastructure activities including server procurement, activation, and decommissioning.
- Plan hardware, software, or license upgrades and migrations to compliant platforms.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, vendors, and external partners to support application operations.

Skills and Experience
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments and collaborate across virtual teams.
- Experience coordinating with stakeholders and managing expectations.
- Exposure to vendor coordination and project management is beneficial.
- Understanding of application infrastructure and technical environments.
- Basic knowledge of operating systems, databases, and web technologies.
Education
Any Graduate or Postgraduate from a recognized university. Familiarity with software technology tools such as UNIX, Windows, Java, .NET, Oracle, Sybase, SQL, and web concepts is beneficial. Knowledge of IT security, risk and compliance practices and understanding of the systems development lifecycle are desirable.
