Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quantitative models and strategies to analyse market trends and support trading, pricing, and risk management across financial products and markets.
- Collaborate closely with sales teams to understand client requirements and deliver tailored analytical solutions.
- Conduct research, data analysis, and statistical modelling to generate insights into pricing behaviour, market trends, and risk dynamics.
- Provide front‑office infrastructure support through ownership and maintenance of analytical libraries.
- Contribute expertise on quantitative methods, technology developments, and industry practices to enhance innovation in the trading environment.
Role Overview
As an Analyst within the Macro team in Global Markets, you will support trading desk initiatives across trading activity, sales, strategy functions, and risk analytics. The position combines quantitative analysis, technology, and operational execution to deliver solutions for the global Macro business.
The role involves facilitating trade booking, amendments, and cancellations across products including bonds, interest rate swaps, cross currency swaps, and swaptions while following desk conventions and controls.
You will design, build, and maintain analytics and dashboards using Python and related tools to support the sales team. This includes analysing hit and miss ratios, tracking client RFQ and trade behaviour, and generating insights that help guide client targeting and desk strategy.
Additional responsibilities include supporting trade idea generation, assisting sales and trading teams with market and structural insights, and ensuring timely communication of trade recaps.
The analyst will also support trade unwind activities and coordinate with internal teams where required. The role includes performing credit line and risk checks before and after trades to ensure compliance with counterparty and internal risk limits.
You will coordinate Independent Amount (IA) requests, manage client communication and documentation, and perform PV validation and pricing checks in collaboration with sales, trading, structuring or strats, and valuation teams.

- Communicate complex or sensitive information clearly and maintain relationships with stakeholders across functions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Finance, or another quantitative discipline.
- Fluency in Japanese, with progress toward JLPT certification from N5 to N1.
- Strong academic background demonstrating analytical and problem solving ability.
- Exposure to investment banking, financial technology, or quantitative roles is beneficial, especially in risk, trade support, execution, or analytics.
- Basic knowledge of derivative products such as interest rate swaps and futures, or the ability to learn quickly.
Preferred Skills
- Understanding of rates and macro products including IRS, bonds, cross currency swaps, and swaptions.
- Experience supporting sales or trading desks across the trade lifecycle.
- Python proficiency with data analysis libraries.
- Pursuing or holding professional certifications such as CFA or FRM.
