Overview

Transport plays a vital role in modern society. At Volvo Group, you will contribute to building sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions while working with advanced technologies and collaborative teams across the organization.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will support the transformation of manufacturing processes by analyzing production activities and improving efficiency. The position involves evaluating value-added and non-value-added activities through time studies, motion studies, and production analysis.

You will perform advanced product assembly simulations for both global and local projects. This includes studying complex assembly kinematics, running dynamic simulations, and ensuring ergonomic standards are followed.

The role also includes preparing virtual and material data for reviews, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the quality of digital product data used in manufacturing processes.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist with value-added and non-value-added activity studies on production lines, including time studies and spaghetti chart analysis for motion tracking.
  • Perform product assembly simulations for global and local product projects, including complex kinematics, dynamic simulations, clash detection, and proximity analysis.
  • Conduct ergonomic assembly simulations in line with Volvo’s ergonomics standards.
  • Present simulation outcomes and findings to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Prepare virtual review materials such as scenes, sequences, and animations using product data, process information, layouts, and tooling data.
  • Carry out DMU quality checks and follow up with engineering teams to maintain virtual product data quality.
  • Coordinate with tooling and equipment engineers across global Volvo factories to gather tooling information and store virtual CAD data in the Global Tooling Repository.

Your Future Team

You will work with a diverse group of engineers and specialists who focus on innovation and continuous improvement. The team promotes knowledge sharing, open communication, and collaboration while supporting digital transformation initiatives in manufacturing.

Who You Are

The role is suited for graduates who want to begin their career in supply chain and logistics while gaining practical industry exposure. Selected candidates will join through the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) and work on real-world engineering projects.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Interest or exposure to CAD tools and virtual manufacturing technologies.
  • Understanding of production processes with attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of ergonomics and assembly simulation methods.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 tools such as Excel and PowerPoint, and Power BI.
  • Experience with tools like PTC Windchill Creo View, Industrial Path Solutions (IPS), or IC.IDO.
