Role Overview
Volvo Group is looking for a Graduate Apprentice Trainee to work as an Embedded Software Developer within the Technology Engineering team. The role focuses on building, testing, and improving software for embedded systems while collaborating with system and software engineers to ensure reliable device and system performance.
You will work with modern technologies and contribute to software development for thermal management and cab climate systems. The position offers exposure to embedded platforms, real time operating systems, and cross functional engineering teams.
What You Will Do
- Design and develop embedded software for Thermal Management and Cab Climate systems.
- Create software that meets required performance, reliability, and scalability standards.
- Improve software efficiency including memory use, processing speed, and energy consumption.
- Work with real time operating systems and embedded Linux environments.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to development and testing.
- Document software architecture, coding standards, and maintenance procedures.
- Ensure software complies with industry standards, safety guidelines, and project requirements.
- Carry out requirement analysis, software design, implementation, testing, verification, and integration of deliverables.
Your Tasks
- Study project requirements and convert them into embedded software design specifications.
- Write efficient and reusable embedded code that interfaces with hardware components such as sensors, actuators, and communication modules.
- Test and debug software using simulation tools and on target testing before deployment.
- Work with cross functional teams to define requirements and verify product functionality.
- Implement enhancements and updates in existing embedded systems.
- Create technical documentation including design specifications and code level notes.
