About the Role
Microsoft is seeking passionate and talented individuals for the position of Security Operations Engineering Intern. This internship offers the opportunity to work on real-world projects, collaborating with global teams while contributing to the company's mission to empower every person and organization to achieve more.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and respond to attempted or successful security breaches, determining next steps and potential escalations.
- Develop and automate security processes and translate security policies into effective controls.
- Respond to security incidents, perform threat intelligence and analysis, and utilize data analytics for security decision-making.
- Support red/purple team operations and contribute to improving overall security posture.
- Maintain and administer hardware, software, network firewalls, encryption protocols, and security policies to control system access.
Qualifications
Required:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Must have at least one additional academic term remaining after internship completion.
Preferred:
- Currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, SANS, GCIA, GCIH, OSCP, or Security+.
Work Environment
This is a fully on-site role with less than 25% travel requirements. Interns will be part of a vibrant, inclusive culture that values respect, integrity, accountability, and innovation.
