About the Role

Microsoft is seeking passionate and talented individuals for the position of Security Operations Engineering Intern. Key Responsibilities

• Investigate and respond to attempted or successful security breaches, determining next steps and potential escalations.
• Develop and automate security processes and translate security policies into effective controls.
• Respond to security incidents, perform threat intelligence and analysis, and utilize data analytics for security decision-making.
• Support red/purple team operations and contribute to improving overall security posture.
• Maintain and administer hardware, software, network firewalls, encryption protocols, and security policies to control system access.

Qualifications

Required:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Must have at least one additional academic term remaining after internship completion.

Preferred:

• Currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, SANS, GCIA, GCIH, OSCP, or Security+.
