About the Role
Grade Level: 05
The Data Quality Team operates within the Data Strategy and Governance Tower and focuses on maintaining the quality and reliability of data across systems used by S&P Global Commodity Insights. The team coordinates data quality initiatives, prioritizes validation activities, and ensures alignment with governance standards so that business teams can rely on accurate and consistent data.
The Team
As part of the Data Quality Team, you will contribute to maintaining the integrity of large and complex datasets across the organization. The role involves working with multiple teams and supporting efforts that improve data governance and strengthen overall data reliability.

- S&P Global Commodity Insights generates more than 10,000 daily assessments used across 1,500+ cleared financial instruments that transact over $10 billion every day.
- The organization streams more than 20,000 bids, offers, and trades each month from over 450 commodity trading companies worldwide.
- The company tracks over 60,000 vessels in real time, produces more than 1,000 weekly reports, and monitors nearly 90% of the world's refineries.
- This role provides exposure to processes that ensure the accuracy and integrity of these data assets and demonstrates how strong data quality supports business decisions.
- You will use tools such as soda.io to monitor and report on data quality metrics while collaborating with Technology, Program, and Data Governance teams.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily data quality operations including rule management, anomaly detection, and coordination of issue resolution.
- Work with domain experts to translate business requirements into data quality rules and support remediation of issues.
- Support technical teams in prioritizing datasets for profiling and monitoring activities.
- Review profiling outcomes and help create reusable custom data quality rules.
- Capture quality metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and support stakeholder training and knowledge sharing.
Basic Qualifications
- Degree in Data Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Understanding of data management concepts and interest in data quality practices such as profiling, rule development, and automation.
- Familiarity with data quality tools like Soda, Great Expectations, or Informatica IDQ is beneficial.
- Working knowledge of SQL for handling datasets and basic experience with Python or PySpark for analysis and automation.
- Basic knowledge of Power BI for reporting and visualization.
