The Team
The EDO Sustainable1 Data Operations team at S&P Global is an international, project focused group working on sustainability data management. The team manages one of the most comprehensive datasets on corporate sustainability, supporting investors, companies, and stakeholders with ESG insights. The environment is collaborative and agile, with a focus on innovation in sustainability indices and benchmarking methodologies.
The Impact
As part of S&P Global’s ESG team, the role focuses on building and maintaining accurate, complete, and timely datasets. The analyst supports the reliability and depth of the dataset by researching information from internal tools and public sources such as regulatory filings, stock exchanges, CSR reports, industry journals, analyst reports, and databases.
Role and Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and timely datasets while considering global business requirements.
- Work with team members and management on initiatives related to Trucost and ESG operations.
- Collect, standardize, and validate information on business relations, competitors, products, and services from company reports.
- Deliver on predefined individual and team targets while maintaining quality standards.
- Operate within defined parameters and supervision to meet performance expectations.
- Stay updated on content sets, industry developments, and reporting standards.
- Provide suggestions for improved data collection methods and product enhancements.
- Troubleshoot issues and assist the team in resolving operational challenges.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration or Environmental Science.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including night shifts.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and interpretive abilities.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and collaborate within a team while meeting deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication along with sound computer knowledge.
- Experience with research methods such as internet searching and Microsoft Office tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to prioritize tasks and deliver results within tight timelines.
- An inquisitive and investigative approach to research work.
- Interest in research and writing with strong attention to detail.
- Professional ability to interact with multiple stakeholders and address issues effectively.
- Knowledge of Advanced Excel, Power BI, SQL, and database management.
- Demonstrated initiative and resourcefulness in completing tasks.
