About the Role

The Environmental Markets pricing and market reporting team is a collaborative global group covering carbon credits, RECs, biomethane, and related environmental markets across London, Gurgaon, Penang, Singapore, Mexico, and Houston.

The team is seeking a motivated market reporter to cover Asian carbon markets with a strong sense of curiosity, collaboration, and investigative thinking.

The Impact

In this role, you will support daily price assessments and market coverage for Asia carbon markets, helping improve transparency across a rapidly evolving segment of the energy transition.

Responsibilities

  • Publish daily price assessments aligned with Platts methodology
  • Collect and maintain market information through regular engagement with industry sources
  • Track market-moving developments across Asia carbon markets
  • Write market commentaries, rationales, and daily reports on key trends
  • Create digital and audio content, including podcasts, focused on price movement drivers
  • Contribute to the launch and development of new market assessments as products evolve
  • Support and lead engagement meetings with market participants to identify industry concerns and product improvements
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with Platts Editorial Standards
  • Represent Platts Environmental Markets offerings and strategy internally and externally

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate should have an interest in energy and carbon markets and be comfortable working under tight deadlines while handling multiple priorities. A proactive mindset, accountability, and the ability to work collaboratively are important for this role.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in journalism, finance, economics, environmental science, or a related discipline
  • Understanding of commodity markets
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Experience engaging with external market participants and building industry sources
  • Ability to write clear and accurate market reports, analysis, and commentaries under deadline pressure
  • Collaborative approach and team-oriented mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of environmental markets
  • Experience in price assessment or commodity market coverage
  • Knowledge of Platts assessments and methodology standards
