Role: Apprentice
Duration: 12 months
This apprenticeship is designed for fresh graduates who want to gain hands-on experience in data operations and financial data management. The role involves working with research reports, company filings, and industry publications to collect and organize relevant information.
Apprentices work with different teams within the Enterprise Data Organization, including Fundamentals, Filings & Sourcing, People Data, Transactions (M&A and Capital Market Data), and Private Markets.
Team Overview
The Apprentice, Data Operations team reviews research reports and company documents to extract relevant information and generate meaningful insights from collected data. The team also monitors global industry publications, news sources, and trade platforms to support data accuracy and coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and extract financial data from reports and documents, then enter the information into internal systems according to defined guidelines.
- Understand dataset workflows and develop a working knowledge of internal tools used for data management.
- Meet individual and team targets while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
- Identify issues in data or processes and assist the team in improving workflows and operational efficiency.
- Respond promptly to emails and communication from colleagues and managers while remaining proactive in learning new tasks.
Financial Operations & Reporting Team
S&P Global’s Network and Regulatory Solutions group provides tools that help organizations meet regulatory requirements while reducing operational risk and complexity. The Financial Operations & Reporting team manages billing for clients, service providers, and business partners.
The team also supports revenue assurance and generates financial reports such as ad hoc billing reports, P&L reporting, contract reports, and invoice dispute resolution.
- Exposure to multiple business verticals including Tax, Regulatory, Trade, and KYC.
- Opportunity to collaborate with internal teams such as Operations, Development, Product, and Finance.
- Participation in a growing business environment with exposure to evolving technologies and processes.
Additional Responsibilities
- Develop a clear understanding of supported business lines and the complete business cycle, including sales, contract management, order management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, SAP reporting, and client services.
- Assist with process improvements, training initiatives, and operational optimization.
- Manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
What We Are Looking For
- Fresh graduates from commerce backgrounds such as BBA, BMS, or B.Com, or postgraduates such as PGDM, MBA, or M.Com with a specialization in Finance or Accounts.
- Willingness to work in a rotational shift environment based on business needs, including night shifts in a 24x5 setup.
- Understanding of corporate finance, accounting principles, financial statements, and annual reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and interpretation skills.
