About the Role:

S&P Global Energy is seeking candidates for the IMPACT (Innovative Mentoring and Professional Acceleration in Commodities) Graduate Program within its Gas & Power business lines. This is an 18-month rotational program where Associates will complete three 6-month rotations in different teams. Final placements on a research team are made after successful completion of the training and rotations.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with complex research assignments across the industry by utilizing diverse sources, advanced secondary research techniques, and data analytics.
• Conduct in-depth research on geographic segment trends, competitors, industry market trends and issues, and relevant technology topics.
• Help maintain and enhance proprietary analytical models and databases currently marketed to clients, such as supply/demand and inventory models.
• Interpret modeling results for understanding and reasonableness.
• Collaborate with regional teams to research and deliberate on the latest market trends.
• Support thought leadership and write insight papers based on research, highlighting recent market developments and government policies.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with local and regional management.
• Perform data structuring and analysis using technology tools such as Python, and data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Spotfire, and Tableau.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical / Metallurgical / Electrical / Chemical / Electronics); Master’s degree (Petroleum / power / renewables / oil and gas / Chemistry / Economics / Physics / Mathematics / Statistics / operations research) graduated by July 2026.
• Available to join full-time.
• Internship or project experience in gas / power / oil / refining / petrochemical / upstream / downstream / Power / Renewable Energy companies is desired.
• Modeling and data science experience is a plus.
• Curiosity about global markets and an inclination towards understanding geopolitics and the overall interconnected energy business ecosystem.
• Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to work on large datasets; research complex issues and write coherent analysis.
• Excellent communication skills with strong verbal, writing, and presentation abilities in international business English.
• Strong problem-solving and logical reasoning skills; able to independently troubleshoot and question data that does not follow logic.
• Strong Office 365 application skills, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
• Highly motivated, result-oriented, and an aptitude for self-learning.
• Strong interpersonal skills, customer focus, and a high regard for stakeholder relationships.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment, with an openness to exchange information and methodologies.
