Agency Service Lending Operations (ASL Ops) manages the lending of securities for Deutsche Bank clients in London and the United States. These securities are held by custodians and are lent based on client instructions. In certain cases, Deutsche Bank also acts as the custodian while providing operational services.

The Agency Lending team handles daily static data management, reconciliation, and cash or collateral settlements for onshore partners including DBAG London and DBAG New York. The team operates from multiple locations in India including Jaipur, Pune, and Bangalore, serving institutional clients such as pension funds, insurance companies, and central banks.

Agency Securities Lending (ASL) enables institutional clients to enhance returns on their fixed income, equity portfolios, and cash positions through controlled lending of securities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily exposure for equity trades across clients and counterparties, including booking and movement of cash collateral.
  • Monitor same day equity trades to ensure timely settlement, release market instructions, amend trades as requested by trading desks, and process CREST loans.
  • Track aged equity trades to confirm settlement completion, update trade details, perform reconciliation tasks, and process CREST returns.
  • Oversee settlement of international trades for the New York entity and settle cash related to new loans to support collateral coverage.
  • Monitor collateral bookings from fixed income and equity teams through to settlement, particularly bond settlements.
  • Validate and settle deals executed by the fixed income trading desk, manage related funding activities, and reconcile broker system references.
  • Handle collateral movements between counterparties and allocate positions across ASL clients.
  • Manage collateral activities for triparty non cash deals and monitor settlements where new deals are pending release.
  • Support bilateral collateral deals on a T+1 basis, confirm re-pricing with counterparties, and ensure client exposures are fully covered.
  • Perform reconciliations of cash screen balances and verify trading balances against Euroclear Bank records.
  • Review triparty and corporate action accounts in Euroclear to confirm funding accuracy and monitor significant balances.
  • Check large balances across ASL accounts to ensure no unidentified amounts remain.
  • Support daily CBL funding and calculate borrowing needs based on cash balances across ASL accounts.
  • Assist with operational reporting, regulatory updates, and process improvements related to ASL projects and initiatives.
  • Provide cross training and knowledge sharing within the team to maintain operational coverage.
  • Escalate operational issues appropriately to avoid potential business impact and ensure risk awareness within the team.

Skills and Experience

  • 0 to 3 years of experience, preferably in banking, financial services, or agency securities lending operations.
  • Understanding of settlements, payments, corporate actions, cash reconciliation, billing or loan servicing is beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to manage high transaction volumes with strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work in shifts based on operational requirements.
