Overview
Background of Position
This position sits within the Firm Risk Management (FRM) Liquidity Risk Department. The team provides independent oversight of the firm's business activities and serves as a second line of defense to ensure that liquidity resources are adequate in size and quality.
The Liquidity Risk function reports to the Chief Risk Officer and monitors the firm’s trading, funding, financing, and banking activities. It also handles liquidity risk limit setting, risk assessment, reporting, and compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement the firm’s Global Data Policy and regulatory principles related to risk data aggregation and risk reporting across the Liquidity Risk Department.
- Work with teams across FRM and the broader firm on data deliverable initiatives, including maintaining the department’s data deliverable inventory.
- Manage categorization of Liquidity Risk data deliverables, including identification and documentation of Critical Risk Reports, Measures, and Attributes.
- Support data cataloguing, data lineage documentation, and adoption of data quality principles in line with the firm’s Global Data Quality Policy.
- Collaborate with risk coverage teams to confirm and prioritize Liquidity Risk data deliverables.
- Assess departmental compliance with global data quality and risk data aggregation principles through the FRM self‑assessment program.
- Assist with data integrity testing conducted by Independent Process Validation teams or Internal Audit, including validation of data lineage and reporting logic.
- Help identify data authorities, implement data quality controls, and monitor data quality issues and risks.
- Improve Liquidity Risk data processes and explore innovation opportunities such as applying artificial intelligence to enhance data governance and strategy.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and oversight committees.
- Stay updated on major firm data initiatives and evolving regulatory expectations affecting Liquidity Risk.
Qualifications
- Strong academic background, preferably a degree in business, finance, or a related discipline.
- Understanding of risk management concepts and financial products.
- Experience in data management or data governance is preferred.
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
- Ability to prioritize work, manage tight deadlines, and maintain high quality output in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel, including VBA or SQL querying.
