Google’s Network Operations Residency Program (NORP) is a two year, full-time program created for recent graduates who want practical exposure to network engineering and technical program management. Participants gain hands-on experience working with large-scale infrastructure and learn how Google builds and operates its global network.
Residents collaborate with engineers on real production systems, contribute to networking projects, and build automation or tools that improve operational workflows. The program provides rotations and mentorship designed to help participants develop technical and operational expertise.
After completing the rotations, participants may move into roles such as Network Engineer, Software Engineer, or Technical Program Manager depending on interests and performance.
Google operates one of the largest and most advanced global networks that powers services used by millions of people. The residency program is designed to help early career engineers build strong foundations in networking, infrastructure systems, and large-scale operations.
