Site Overview

The John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru, established in 2000, is GE Aerospace's multidisciplinary research and engineering hub. Engineers and scientists at the center have contributed to numerous aviation patents and breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing.

Essential Responsibilities

• Work as part of a development team focusing on Data Science technologies including statistics, machine learning, deep learning, and GenAI.
• Collaborate with a designated mentor on assigned projects. Analyze, design, test, and integrate components that meet business standards and program or product requirements.
• Document technical data generated during project work in line with organizational policies and procedures.
• Prepare technical documentation and present results derived from project activities.

Internship Overview

This internship enables students to participate in exploratory Data Science projects and contribute to digital solutions addressing identified business or technical challenges.

Qualifications

• Students currently pursuing B.Tech (3rd or 4th year) or M.Tech (1st or 2nd year) from reputed institutes.
• Preferred specialization in Computer Science or Information Technology with a focus on Data Science or Artificial Intelligence.
• Minimum academic performance of 7 CGPA or 70 percent with no active backlogs.
• A No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the college must be submitted before the offer is issued.

Desired Characteristics

• Strong interest in technology and awareness of current industry trends and software development tools.
• Good proficiency in Python programming and machine learning concepts.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to question existing processes and think critically.
• Willingness to learn, collaborate with teams, and share information transparently.
