Job Overview

The Junior Programmer Analyst role focuses on building and maintaining reporting solutions, data pipelines, and dashboards. The position supports business teams by transforming raw data into structured reports and insights using Microsoft data tools.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting and Visualization

• Create and maintain SSRS reports including tabular, matrix, drill-through, and parameterized formats.
• Develop interactive dashboards and visual reports using Power BI.
• Apply visualization best practices such as KPI cards, trend analysis, and RAG indicators.
• Improve report performance and usability for business users.

Data Integration and ETL

• Develop and manage SSIS packages for ETL workflows.
• Extract data from multiple sources including SQL Server databases, APIs, and flat files.
• Transform, cleanse, and load data into reporting databases.
• Schedule and monitor ETL jobs to support regular data refresh cycles.

Data Modeling and Analysis

• Design and maintain data models used in Power BI reporting.
• Create DAX measures, calculated columns, and data relationships.
• Validate datasets and ensure accuracy of metrics used in reports.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Collect reporting requirements from business users, QA teams, and leadership.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications.
• Provide insights and recommendations derived from data analysis.

Deployment and Maintenance

• Deploy reporting solutions across development, QA, and production environments.
• Troubleshoot issues related to reporting accuracy, data integrity, and performance.
• Maintain documentation for dashboards, reports, and ETL workflows.

Tools and Technologies

• SQL Server with SSRS and SSIS
• Power BI (Desktop and Service)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel
• Optional exposure to Azure Data Factory or Databricks

Preferred Exposure

• Experience or familiarity with healthcare, audit, or claims-related datasets.
• Understanding of Azure or cloud-based data platforms.
• Exposure to automation tools such as Power Automate or job scheduling utilities.
