This 12 month apprenticeship under India's National Apprenticeship Training Scheme provides practical, on the job learning. The program offers exposure to real banking operations and risk processes. Completion of the apprenticeship does not guarantee permanent employment with Deutsche Bank.
Role Overview
The Working Capital Risk Management team is seeking candidates with a background in finance, risk, or portfolio management. The apprentice will assist with end to end deal management tasks, including risk evaluation, analysis, KYC due diligence, portfolio reviews, compliance activities, and reporting.
The position provides exposure to global corporate banking operations related to Trade Finance and Lending. The role involves collaborating with international teams and contributing to projects that improve processes and support risk management functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct portfolio due diligence including legal entity verification, internal system checks, and review of previous relationships.
- Support risk monitoring activities to meet audit and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with framework design and feasibility evaluation for working capital products.
- Perform risk scoring for deals using defined procedures and analysis of qualitative factors.
- Support deal management tasks such as rating verification, feasibility reviews, and coordination for KYC or AFC processes.
- Contribute to small projects, audit preparation, and related operational activities.
- Identify ideas that support process improvement, automation, simplification, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with technology, business teams, and Client Lifecycle Management to maintain control processes and meet regulatory requirements.
- Maintain internal documentation and operational procedures for relevant products.
- Work with teams such as Trade Sales, Trade Finance Deal Management, Product Managers, and Trade Services to help address deal roadblocks and support trade finance activities.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, Engineering, Economics, or Applied Economics.
- Understanding of financial risk, controls, compliance, and regulatory frameworks within banking, particularly Trade Finance.
- Exposure to analytical work, project management, or risk related activities is beneficial.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office tools including Excel, along with familiarity with Tableau and basic database concepts.
- Ability to work in an international environment and coordinate with teams across multiple time zones including US, EMEA, and APAC.
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal. German language knowledge is an advantage.
