Purpose of the Role

Desk Analysts cover relevant sectors and credits while tracking market and company news. They work closely with traders and sales teams to share company and market updates internally and with clients.

The role involves building financial models to forecast performance and evaluate capital structure opportunities. Analysts also conduct detailed research on companies and industries through financial reports, industry publications, expert interviews, and interactions with management teams.

Accountabilities

• Maintain and update financial models and client databases accurately.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation supporting sales and trading activities.
• Monitor market data, industry developments, and company news to support trading analysis.
• Track financials and news flow across sectors and credits.
• Work with traders using fundamental credit understanding to develop trade ideas.
• Perform credit analysis and generate actionable investment recommendations.
• Participate in earnings calls, maintain trading blotters, and build financial models.

Role Overview

Join the RMG Secured Funding and Liquidity team within Global Markets. The role combines technology and finance or risk knowledge to help monitor and optimise the secured funding and liquidity profile of the business.

You will build and improve dashboards and reporting capabilities to provide timely insights into secured funding and liquidity metrics. The position also involves analysing global funding data, identifying key drivers of movement, and supporting stakeholder discussions with data-backed insights.

Assessment for this role may include analytical problem-solving, stakeholder management, communication abilities, and delivering high-quality outputs under time-sensitive conditions.

Basic and Essential Qualifications

• Graduate from a leading Engineering or Business school.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Interest in finance, risk, and liquidity metrics.
• Knowledge of financial products, risk analytics, prime brokerage, and secured funding.
• Experience building dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
• Technical skills in Python, SQL, Qlik, and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to use AI tools such as Copilot and Claude.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

• Understanding of asset classes such as Equities, Fixed Income, or FX.
• Prior experience in finance or risk.
• Progress toward CFA or FRM certification.
