Purpose of the Role
The position supports business units with daily operational activities including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading support, and issue resolution.
Accountabilities
- Assist business areas with day-to-day tasks such as processing, reporting, trade support, and resolving operational issues.
- Work with teams across the bank to align and integrate operational processes.
- Identify improvement opportunities and recommend enhancements to operational workflows.
- Develop and implement procedures and control measures to reduce operational risk and improve efficiency.
- Create reports and presentations on operational performance and share insights with internal stakeholders.
- Monitor industry developments and apply relevant best practices within banking operations.
- Participate in projects and initiatives designed to enhance operational effectiveness.
Analyst Expectations
- Provide specialist advice and support to meet stakeholder and customer needs.

- Build relationships with stakeholders and customers to identify and address their needs.

Role Responsibilities
The Operations Analyst focuses on reconciliation activities including daily, weekly, biweekly, and month-end processes. The role supports Barclaycard production operations, break management, and operational reconciliations related to payment activities.
- Ensure service level agreements are met within defined timelines.
- Perform daily reconciliations and manage breaks within the specified delinquency period.
- Follow AO&R policy and General Ledger control frameworks.
- Handle journal processing and risk reporting according to defined procedures.
- Prepare reconciliation templates and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve open items.
- Maintain compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Process customer adjustments or settlements while adhering to PSD controls.
- Collect and analyze financial information from multiple reports and systems.
- Support operational change initiatives when required.
- Ensure adherence to SOX and operational risk control requirements.
- Conduct conference calls and manage customer expectations when necessary.
- Identify improvement opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
Desirable Skills
- Understanding of reconciliation processes.
- Knowledge of the card payments industry is beneficial.
- Familiarity with the trade lifecycle.
- Experience using tools such as SAP or Intellimatch.
- Attention to detail and ownership of daily deliverables.
- Ability to manage deadlines with accuracy.
- Coordination and stakeholder communication capability.
