This role focuses on overseeing transactional processes while ensuring compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. The position also involves maintaining accurate documentation for financial transactions and supporting legal operations.
Purpose of the Role
Manage transaction-related activities in line with regulatory standards while supporting documentation and legal processes. The role contributes to controlling legal and reputational risk associated with financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that transaction services and documentation processes follow applicable laws and regulations.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including legal counsel, credit risk teams, and other departments, to support timely execution of transactions.
- Create, review, negotiate, and manage legal documents such as loan agreements, security documents, and other transaction-related records.
- Provide transaction support by preparing summaries, conducting due diligence, and assisting other departments where required.
- Help develop and implement procedures that ensure consistent and efficient execution of transactions.
- Identify and communicate legal considerations related to laws, rules, and regulations, and stay updated on regulatory changes affecting the coverage area.

- Escalate breaches of policies or procedures and support the implementation of new risk mitigation controls.
- Advise stakeholders within the area of expertise and contribute to informed decision making.
- Maintain awareness of how the sub-function integrates with broader organizational processes and products.
- Analyze factual information carefully and make informed evaluations to resolve operational issues.
- Act as a point of contact for stakeholders outside the immediate team and build professional networks across functions.
Knowledge & Data Team Responsibilities
Members of the Knowledge & Data Team within the Markets Legal master agreement negotiation group provide day-to-day support to the broader Global Contract Services team and other internal stakeholders.
- Review finalized agreements to ensure completeness.
- Extract relevant legal and business data from documentation.
- Assist with counterparty due diligence and execution of master agreements.
- Maintain management information and data records.
- Store legal documentation in Barclays' central document repository.
The team maintains controls to ensure that captured data from trading documentation flows correctly to downstream users and meets regulatory record retention requirements. Responsibilities also include handling queries, performing data analysis and remediation, producing reports, and contributing to project work when required.

Requirements
- Experience with data management, analysis, and document repository systems.
- Ability to navigate multiple IT systems used by legal teams.
- Experience supporting research, remediation tasks, and project work.
- Flexibility to work UK business hours.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
