Job Description
Purpose of the role
The position supports business areas through daily operational activities including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading support, and issue resolution.
Accountabilities
- Assist business units with daily activities such as processing transactions, reviewing data, reporting, trade support, and resolving operational issues.
- Collaborate with teams across the bank to align and integrate operational processes.
- Identify improvement opportunities and recommend enhancements to operational workflows.
- Develop and implement procedures and operational controls to reduce risk and improve efficiency.
- Create reports and presentations on operational performance and communicate insights to senior internal stakeholders.
- Monitor industry developments and adopt best practices in banking operations.
- Participate in projects and initiatives aimed at improving operational effectiveness.

Fixed Income Securities Middle Office
The role supports the Fixed Income Securities Middle Office function, which acts as a first line of defence control team. It ensures that information flowing through the Barclays Investment Banking infrastructure remains complete, timely, and well controlled so downstream processes can operate efficiently with minimal data verification.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide client support for Fixed Income trade confirmations to ensure timely confirmation within CTM.
- Work with clients to ensure trades are allocated correctly and settled within required timelines.
- Manage and resolve operational exceptions using internal systems, including client onboarding and query resolution.
- Assist with initiatives that support the development and expansion of the function.
- Communicate with clients via email to ensure smooth confirmation of Fixed Income trades.
- Collaborate within a transparent and cooperative team culture while considering risk management and process optimisation.
- Work effectively with a diverse global workforce in a fast changing environment.
- Build relationships across functions and with external stakeholders.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of electronic trading and confirmation platforms such as Bloomberg, TradeWeb, MarketAxess, Omgeo CTM, and FIX.
- Experience working in a client service environment and understanding client expectations.
- Understanding of Fixed Income products and related operational processes.
- Familiarity with end to end operational process flows and control checkpoints.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
