Job Description

Purpose of the Role

The Analyst is responsible for supporting the organisation's financial operations while ensuring financial reporting is accurate, reliable, and aligned with relevant standards and regulations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Prepare and present accurate financial statements and accounting records in accordance with applicable accounting standards, rules, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial risks, and report identified risks to senior colleagues.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal control systems to safeguard assets, prevent misreporting, and ensure financial data accuracy. Regularly evaluate control effectiveness and address any gaps.
  • Support the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to promote consistent financial practices across the organisation.
  • Manage the selection, implementation, and maintenance of financial systems and applications, collaborating with IT teams to integrate finance tools with enterprise systems.
  • Prepare and submit statutory and regulatory reports, while supporting other departments with their regulatory reporting activities.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory authorities during audits and examinations.

  • Complete assigned activities on time while maintaining high quality standards and supporting continuous improvement.
  • Apply technical knowledge and maintain a solid understanding of principles relevant to the assigned area of work.
  • Guide or support team members where required, helping allocate tasks and coordinate resources.
  • Develop subject matter expertise and act as an advisor when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with related teams and partner with other business functions.
  • Take ownership of operational outcomes within the team and escalate policy or procedural breaches when necessary.
  • Support the implementation of new policies or procedures introduced for risk mitigation.
  • Influence decision-making within the relevant area of expertise.
  • Manage risks effectively and strengthen internal controls within assigned responsibilities while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and conduct standards.
  • Maintain awareness of how the sub-function integrates with broader organisational processes, products, and services.
  • Analyse factual information carefully, make evaluative judgements, and resolve problems using established precedents and technical knowledge.
  • Communicate complex or sensitive information clearly and engage with stakeholders across teams and external networks.

Basic / Essential Qualifications

  • Qualified Accountant such as CA, CMA, or ACCA.
  • Strong academic record with a first-class honours bachelor's degree from a reputable institution.
  • Prior exposure, if any, to month-end or quarter-end financial reporting environments, control-focused roles, or finance automation initiatives.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Desirable Skills

  • Ability to engage with stakeholders and understand their requirements.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards and principles under IFRS.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
