Job Description

Purpose of the Role

The role focuses on overseeing financial aspects of trading activities, ensuring accuracy and integrity within the bank’s trading book. The position also supports regulatory compliance and provides insights into trading performance.

Accountabilities

• Reconcile daily profit and loss (P&L) for trading desks to ensure alignment with valued trading book positions, investigating and resolving discrepancies to reflect the true economic value of the portfolio.
• Assist in identifying, assessing, and mitigating trading risks, and report financial risk findings to senior colleagues.
• Maintain and analyze trading data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency while sharing insights with traders and senior stakeholders regarding performance.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports to authorities and support external audit activities, including responding to auditor queries and ensuring accurate representation of trading activity in financial statements.
• Communicate complex financial information clearly to traders, risk professionals, senior colleagues, and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate across functions to maintain a coordinated approach to trading activities.

In this Analyst role, you will support the evolution of the bank’s digital and financial landscape while maintaining a strong internal control environment. Responsibilities include reviewing key controls, substantiating adjustments, and monitoring activities such as new, amended, and cancelled trades.

Basic / Essential Qualifications

• Proficiency with MS Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Qualified accountant.
• Ability to communicate effectively with global teams across regions including the UK and US.
• Strong awareness of controls and the ability to identify and escalate potential control breakdowns while improving processes.
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to break down complex problems and resolve them efficiently.
