Purpose of the Role
The role focuses on overseeing financial aspects of trading activity, ensuring the trading book remains accurate and compliant with regulatory requirements. The position also provides insight into trading performance while maintaining integrity in financial reporting.
Accountabilities
- Reconcile daily profit and loss (P&L) figures for trading desks to ensure alignment with valued trading positions. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies so reported figures reflect the true economic value of the trading portfolio.
- Assist in identifying, assessing, and mitigating trading risks, and report financial risk insights to senior stakeholders.
- Maintain and analyse trading data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency while providing insights on trading performance to traders and leadership.
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports to authorities and support external audit processes by addressing queries and ensuring trading activities are correctly represented in financial statements.
- Communicate complex financial information to traders, risk teams, senior colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively across functions to support a coordinated approach to trading operations.

In this Analyst position, you will work with the Line PC team to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial books and records, including P&L and balance sheet substantiation and reporting. The role involves monitoring trading activities for policy compliance and providing management with operational and technical analysis of the business unit.
You will collaborate closely with the Front Office, Financial Control, Technical Accounting Group, PC Change Management, Technology teams, and other infrastructure functions.
Required Skills
- Experience using the MS Office toolkit.
- Qualified accountant.
- Ability to communicate and present information effectively in both formal and informal settings, including interaction with global teams across regions.
- Strong awareness of controls, with the ability to identify and escalate potential control breakdowns and improve operational processes.
Preferred Skills
- Background in financial engineering.
- Articleship or industrial training experience in mid to large firms.
- Audit exposure within large financial institutions or banks.
Candidates may be assessed on critical capabilities including risk and controls, transformation and change, business understanding, strategic thinking, and digital or technology related skills relevant to the role.
